Sparkplug and Talon Protect the President: book three

Sparkplug and Talon protect the President

It was a Thursday afternoon and Tom Plex was talking to his sister Sally animatedly about the dream he'd had the night before.

Two buzzes came through the room.

The siblings looked at their watches, they had one word that read mission, the watches had a number two on them, that meant that the mission was for both of them, and they had a GPS coordinates.

Sally and Tom were best friends and they were also super heroes.

Tom’s powers were lightning, he could fly, make lightning, and he could make a lightning rope, his super hero name was Sparkplug.

Sally could turn into five different animals they were a cougar, a common swift, a dolphin, a peregrine falcon, and a monkey. Her super hero name was Talon.

The watches suddenly showed a sentence that read, “Stop the conventional bomb from landing in Washington D.C. at all costs, we cannot afford to lose the white house or the president.

“Let’s go,” Sally said.

“We live in South Carolina, not Washington D.C.” said Tom.

“Oh, I forgot,” Sally said sarcastically, “We can’t fly at two hundred miles an hour.”

“Ha, ha,” Tom said with equal sarcasm

“Let’s go,” Sally said again.

“Fine,” Tom obliged.

The kids raced out the door.

“Bye mom,” Tom called, “we are going to the Woods and building a fort.”

“Okay,” their mom said.

“Nice excuse,” said Sally.

“Thanks.”

The siblings pressed their watch and their suits were on them.

Talon was suddenly a swift and she rocketed off.

Sparkplug jumped up and followed.

Talon was now a Peregrine Falcon and when she saw Sparkplug she took off north.

Eventually the two kids saw a bomber plane in the distance. It was about two miles above them.

They flew up and Talon landed on the wing turned into a cougar. She swatted at the glass and it cracked then shattered.

Sparkplug pointed a finger at the pilot and crackling lightning shot out of his fingertip and hit him in the chest, stunning him.

Talon, as a golden lion tamarin swung into the airplane and landed on the copilot's head. She grabbed his eyelids and pulled them back, giving a high pitched laugh. Then she turned into a cougar and the man crumpled as his chair snapped in half and the copilot smashed his head on the floor and blacked out.

Sparkplug zipped through the window and wound up the two other men in the plane with a lightning rope that caused them to start to have spasms. Sparkplug threw the men into the air and Talon turned into a falcon and slightly slowed the men's descent until they lay on their backs on a small hidden beach by the water.

Sparkplug, who love planes beyond reason, turned the plane around and aimed it for the ocean. Then he leaped out of the plane.

The siblings flew away both thinking about how relatively easy the mission had been when, out of the blue Talon screeched loudly.

Sparkplug looked behind him and gasped, a large bomb was dropping. Already it was only about a thousand yards from the ground. Sparkplug shot a lightning bolt at the bomb but it was too far away, so Sparkplug zoomed toward it and tried again. He missed. He was getting frustrated at himself when he saw Talon.

She was flying toward the bomb!

“No!” Sparkplug yelled franticly. He made his lightning lasso and caught her. It stunned her so she froze in the air. Then Sparkplug got an idea. He made a large ball of lightning and flew closer to the bomb he threw the ball.

It made solid contact and the bomb exploded.

Sparkplug untied Talon and carried her while until she regained herself.

When they landed Sally started yelling at Tom, “What did you lasso me for?”

“Listen,” Tom said calmly. If you had destroyed that bomb when you were that close to it you would have died.”

“Oh,” Sally said, blushing, “uh you have good aim with your rope and that lightning ball was really cool.”

Thanks,” Tom said, grinning.

The siblings took off their suits with the click of their watches and ran inside.
