Sparkplug and Talon VS the invisible Villain: book five
Sparkplug and Talon VS the invisible
Villain
Tom Plex was playing chess with his dad when his watch buzzed. Tom looked down, his watch face showed one word, a number, and a GPS coordinates, the word was, in all caps, MISSION, the number was a number two and the GPS coordinates led Tom to Honolulu Hawaii.
“Sorry dad,” Tom said, “Me and Sally have to go on a mission.”
Tom and Sally Plex were both proud to be superheroes.
Tom had lightning powers, he could shoot lightning, make a lightning rope, and he had the power of flight, his superhero name was Sparkplug.
Sally had animal powers,
she could turn into five different animals, they were a cougar, a puma, a
Peregrine Falcon, a Golden Eagle, and a dolphin, her superhero name was Talon.
Suddenly, Tom watch went
from GPS, to a command, it read, “Meet me at the park by your house in five
minutes.”
“Dad,” Tom said, “Let’s go
to the park.”
“Why,” Mr. Plex asked. "I thought you had to go on a mission."
“Right now we need to go to the park,”
Tom replied, “to meet Commander Grov for the first time ever.”
“Well what are we waiting for?” Mr. Plex asked, “Let’s get in the car.”
Tom got his mom while Sally and Mr. Plex got in the car.
When everyone had finally piled into the car Tom realized that they would be just on time.
The park was empty, only one a single person was there.
Tom and Sally led their parents to a man they only recognized from a facetime call.
“Hi commander,” Tom and
Sally said, saluting.
Commander Grov’s hand
flashed to his head and back down in a salute, and said, “I see you have told
your parents about your powers.”
“Yes,” Mr. Plex said, “and
we came to meet you,” he held his hand out and Commander Grov shook it, “my name
is Bill and this is my wife Abigail.
Commander Grov smiled and
said, “My name is Grov Antrim, but please call me Grov.”
“Okay then Grov,” Mrs. Plex
said, “what is our kid’s mission today?”
The commander’s face suddenly
turned from a grin to a grim face and a dangerous light flickered through his
eyes and he said, “There is a super villain on the loose.”
“Super villain as in a villain with superpowers, like, an evil person who wants to take over the world and has powers that will help him do that?" Mr. Plex asked. "Whew it gives me the goosebumps just thinking about it."
“Yes,” Commander Grov said, “But this villain doesn’t have super powers, but he does have a machine to turn himself invisible, his name is Dr. Moor Onick. He is currently in Honolulu Hawaii
Tom and Sally laughed, “Moor
Onick, like moronic?” they said.
Commander Grov smiled, "yeah, if you come to the HQ that is one of our big jokes.”
Sally and Tom giggled as they clicked their watches and two super hero suits appeared on them.
Talon's suit was like Black Widow's in the Avengers except it didn't have the red symbol and it was the color of a cougar's fur.
Sparkplug's suit was like Spiderman's but it was electric blue except for a yellow lightning bolt on the right shoulder.
"Goodbye mom, bye dad," Talon said as she held a hand out to Sparkplug.
Sparkplug clicked a button on his watch and a case slid out with two earpieces on it.
Talon took one, popped it into her ear, turned into a swift and zoomed into the sky. She folded in her wings in, turned into a peregrine falcon and dove. She unfolded her wings just in time and landed on a tree.
Tom cupped his hands by his mouth and called out, "meet me at the capitol building in Texas!" Tom saluted to his parents and flew up to into the clouds and turned straight west.

When Sparkplug landed on the
top of the capital building he tried to stay low to not be seen, luckily it was a very hot day so no sane person would be out and about. Plus, everyone was at either work or school. Sparkplug grinned as he remembered how fortunate he was that he was a superhero and had started homeschooling so that he could save the school every day. He looked around and said through his ear piece, “Talon where are
you?”
“I’m here,” the reply came. "On the north side of the building."
Sparkplug flew several yards above the building and flew around the
roof. He soon spotted a falcon standing on the northeast side of the building. Tom dove and picked her up in his arms. He accelerated to as fast as he could and, when he was at least a mile up in the air, he dropped the falcon.
The bird flapped it's wings angrily and flew back to Sparkplug, she raked down Sparkplug's arm with her talons and then flew away.
"Ow!" Sparkplug yelped in his earpiece.
"What?" Talon's voice asked.
"You just scratched me with your talons," Sparkplug answered angrily.
"I'm human," Talon said in a confused tone. "And I don't even know where you are."
Sparkplug slapped his forehead "I just threw a real bird," he groaned.
Talon burst out laughing.
Sparkplug flew around again and saw his sister sitting down, basking in the sun. Her eyes were closed.
Sparkplug flew down and grabbed his sister's ankle. He tried to fly fast but barely even managed to go half as fast as he normaly could. He managed to get his sister off the edge of the building and dropped her. Sparkplug waited for the transformation into a bird but it didn't come.
Talon flailed and flapped her arms but didn't even attempt to morph.
It suddenly occurred to Sparkplug that Talon was so afraid that she couldn't manage to change.
Sparkplug rolled inverted over, dropping to the ground like a bowling ball off of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
He grabbed Talon around the waist and slowed the descent until his toes barely brushed the grass. He dropped to the ground and set Talon down.
Talon immediately turned
into a cougar and jumped several feet into the air, turned around and, in midair kicked off Sparkplug's chest.
Sparkplug's feet left the ground completely and he zoomed toward the wall of the building. Sparkplug’s mind went blank, and he was flying, flying without control. His
face was inches from the ground, the impact would break his nose when he hit,
but then Sparkplug stopped moving and landed on his side on the ground. His face was getting tickled by the grass,
but he had stopped, and when he looked behind him a peregrine falcon squawked and set him down
lightly.
Talon turned into a girl again and said, “You don’t like being in the air if you're not in control do you?"
Sparkplug grinned sheepishly.
“Let’s go,” Talon said. "She turned into a swift and hopped into the air.
Sparkplug felt the familiar sensation as he took off to join his sister. The two took off and sped
west.
Eventually an island came
into view.
The two siblings landed.
“What’s the plan?” Talon
asked.
“Find the dr. and beat the
tar out of him,” Sparkplug said.
“I mean, well you know what I mean,” Talon said. "How are we going to find him, what's the real plan when we do find him?"
"I destract as a dolphin and you sneak up from above," Talon answered as if it were obvious.
"But what happens if that doesn't work?" Sparkplug demanded.
The two started to argue when Sparkplug gasped.
Footprints were appearing in the sand, but no one was
there.
Talon turned into a falcon and streaked to where the footprints were. She suddenly was slammed out of the air by an invisible force.
Sparkplug rose off the ground and charged at where he thought the villain was.
As if there was a super villain named Dr. Moor Onick who was invisible on an island in hawaii, an invisible punch landed in between Sparkplug's hip and kidney, knocking the hero out of the air and making him eat sand.
A cougar started running in circles around the vacinity that both heroes thought Dr. Onick was.
Sparkplug spotted an opening and lunged at where he
thought the invisible man was and, he hit something solid.
Suddenly a man was scrambling up. A small box was in the sand a few feet away from him.
Talon (as the cougar,) pounced forward and snagged the box with her paws.
"Good kitty," Dr. Onick whimpered in a squeaky voice. "You don't want to ruin my life, you want to give me my scientific achievement and leave me alone. We could be BEFs (Best Enemies Forever.) We could have a career of chasing each other."
Talon turned into a peregrine
falcon, flew up and dove. She reached speeds of more than a hundred miles and stretched
out her talons; she flung the box onto a rock.
Dr. Moor Onick jumped to
the box but a cougar landed on him.
There was a crack from the
Doctor’s leg and a crunch from the box.
Sparkplug bound the villain up in a lightning rope that electrocuted him just enough to send him into unconsciousness. The two siblings pressed their watches, and their suits disappeared. They went and got non-alcoholic pina colada drinks.
When the two kids finished their drinks. Then they got the Dr. and flew to the Commander Grov who put him in his jacked up car and took him to a special prison.
The kids, knowing that the villain was in good hands, went home.
