Monster Quest
Monster Quest
The wind whipped through my brown hair as I leaped out of the small plane; savouring the feel of the wind in my face, I dove about twenty feet and stretched out my hands and feet. My squirrel suit unfurled
I glided to a small cliff and landed, stumbling a little before windmilling my arms to right myself.
I walked around the large mountain, my eyes roving the ground and the sky.
I was looking for monsters; I had heard tales of small lizard like monsters that supposedly lurked on these mountains and I planned to see if they were true. Some people said they had wings, some said that they wore armor and their arms were swords. So you'll understand why I absolutely had to figure out if this was correct.
I walked around for ten minutes and spotted nothing except breathtaking scenery. I
walked to a split in the mountain, that was about ten yards wide and at least forty yards deep.
I took a deep breath and dashed off of the mountain and stretched out my arms, and
was jerked up as the wind flooded into the fabric between my limbs. I flew safely to the other side of the long crack.
I walked around again and again but sadly, I saw nothing. I finally decided that the
stories were false. I was disappointed to say the least but finally decided that there was nothing I could do about it. I jumped off the mountain to fly home, but when I looked back, I saw a tail slide into the long crack in the mountain.
I slowly turned toward the crevice.
I flew through the crack to find a nightmare unfolding before my eyes. At least fifteen four foot long lizards
jumping up at me, when they jumped their fangs extended to three feet long,
their tail had a spiked ball on it, when they were jumping and fell short they curved
their tail and spun it in circles to slow the descent.
fumbling with my camera to take a picture, I put on the light
just in time to see one of the monsters zoom up at me, it snatched my camera,
on the way down its long fangs cut my hand, I flew out of there and on to the
mountain, I nursed my hand and rapped it up in my sock, then I started flying
home, as soon as I jumped off the cliff a lizard jumped at me, its tail scratched
the soul of my foot I screamed and closed my eyes.
When I got home I landed on my knees on the giant trampoline in my backyard I quickly bandaged my injured foot then decided that I would tell people that there was no monster for I knew that
if anyone else tried to find it they would be hurt badly, or even killed.
